Portfolio Performance Update
2006-01-23 21:57 | Posted by The Graham Investor | Permanent Link | Screen PerformanceFinally we got around to updating the Performance section following a major upgrade to the site. The portfolio as at 20th January 2006 can be found here. But read on.
The most notable change (apart from the percentage gains!)
is that our ELBO stock has been replaced by GME stock plus cash after
the September takeover by Gamestop.
After much agonizing, we have decided to change our
position on stop-losses since several people have pointed out that Ben
Graham is not known to have used them. If you are buying deep value
with a large margin of safety, there should in theory be no
need to use stop losses if you are patient enough to wait for the stock
to be re-rated by Mr Market.
Therefore we won't use stops in the portfolio any longer, in order to see where it takes us.
