Historical Earnings Per Share

Hi buffetteer! Thanks for your post -- glad you like the site.
Historical EPS is available on Morningstar. Go to www.morningstar.com, enter a ticker like PFE in the quotes box just under the Morningstar logo in the top left, and click on the arrow next to the text box. This will take you to a quote page. On this page, in the Left hand menu, select "Financial Statements". This will take you to a page with the "10yr Income" tab highlighted. Just scroll down and you'll see 10 years of EPS and Diluted EPS.
Alternatively, go to charts.grahaminvestor.com which is a new sub-site of The Graham Investor, and enter PFE in the box and hit the button. You'll see CAGR curves for the price, EPS, Revenue, Stockholder Equity, etc. Hope you find this useful.

Depends on how much history you want for Return on Equity. I know that Morningstar has 5 years of Return on Equity values in their "snapshot" page for each stock. Take a look at:
http://quicktake.morningstar.com/Stock/ProfitabilityGrade.asp?Country=USA&Symbol=IBM&stocktab=snapshot
To get there, enter a symbol, click on "snapshot", then the "Profitability" tab.
Are you using Return on Equity as part of your investing strategy? If so, check out some of the charts at http://charts.grahaminvestor.com -- in particular look for a Shareholder equity graph that is growing each year. Try Wal Mart as an example and look at the last graph. Now there's a company that creates shareholder value.
