Interesting anomaly....Google Finance and MSN have the same data (as above), Yahoo! Finance and Morningstar are different though. I will have to check the Edgar DB to see who is correct, unless someone beats me to it!

I think you have illustrated that we cannot rely too much on a stock screen alone, it is always incumbent on the individual to use a stock screen to narrow down the possibilities AND THEN do their own due diligence (which you are obviously doing well).

Graham used NACV after the 1929 crash.

It worked real good then but not now. Almost never now .

People use modern Graham screens.

Go to 3rd Avenue Value fund run buy Marty Whitman . Read his letters to shareholders.

He invests like Graham . A value genius.

NAV works with Banks, RealEstate stks

Ins stks and brokers.

STKs that normaly sell at book value. Buy below book.

Marty made a ton of money on K-Mart bonds in ch 11.

Buffett now uses IV based on John Burr Williams discounted cash flows.

He also wants a moat.

Marty has made some great value buys.

See their buys at Gurufocus.com 100% free.

Unless you are an accounting genius you need to buy a value fund.

Or buy what the experts buy.

I am not sure where to look for total current assets and total liablities on MSN, Morningstar or Yahoo Screens. I was wondering how you calculate NCAV for so many shares without using stock screens? Do you go through the balance sheet of all the stocks individually? This question is for The Graham Investor as well as anyone else who might like to comment on it.

We go through the balance sheet, cash flow and income statements with a custom program in order to calculate the NCAV (Graham Number) values you find on this site. Is that what you wanted to know?
