My name is John B Keown. I have over 20 years experience in IT and about as much again as an investor.
I am generally a long-term value investor and try to use as many of Ben Graham’s principles as possible. This website was created mainly to help me become a better investor, and maintain some of my technical skills while developing others.
The site was originally built using a combination of: Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Plone, Perl and Java on a Fedora Core 3 platform which went through many upgrades to Fedora 10. In 2009, somewhat tired of Plone as a CMS mainly due to poor migration and add-on support, I switched to using Wordpress in order to be able to devote more time to creating content. This site uses the excellent Thesis theme and makes extensive use of hooks and custom functions.
